Land-Motorsport looks back at an instructive 24H Series weekend. The 12H Mugello demonstrated that the total package is good enough for top positions. Christian Land is accordingly optimistic about the coming races.
Kilometres in the lead, a strong pace and also a class win – the Niederdreisbach squad’s yield is impressive. “Well, for the time being”, sums up Christian Land. “From a sporting point of view, we could have done more. However, a few setbacks and unfortunate circumstances cost us a better result.”
He’s referring, among other things, to a 10-lap penalty resulting from repairs that destroyed Stefan Wieninger, Tim Müller and Christopher Mies’s hopes of a possible top placement. “Nevertheless, winning the trophy for the Pro-Am class was in the end a nice compensation,” said Land.
The team manager is very clear about the situation after the Tuscany event: “Our line-up certainly puts top placements in the 24H Series within reach”, he comments. “Johannes, Ingo and Tim also proved this with the sister car’s Top 4 spot, right up to just a few minutes before the finish. All three drivers consistently delivered over the entire weekend. I’m really proud of Tim, who premiered in his first GT3 race ever and improved with each session.”
Next round of the 24 Series is scheduled for 6 to 7 May on the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Till then, Christian Land says there’s still “some homework” to be done.
