The fifth round of the 2026 DTM season took Land-Motorsport to Motorsport Arena Oschersleben near Magdeburg, where Bastian Buus continued his upward trajectory. The Dane collected valuable championship points with eleventh- and 14th-place finishes, while setting the fastest lap of Saturday’s race to underline the progress made throughout the weekend.
“Of course, we had hoped for stronger results this weekend, but the final positions don’t tell the full story,” said team principal Christian Land. “This was Bastian’s first DTM race weekend at Oschersleben, so there was a lot for him to learn. He did an excellent job, closed the gap with every session and made consistent progress throughout the weekend. That was a strong performance from him.”
The young Dane continued to demonstrate his steady progress on Saturday. Buus set the fastest lap of the race with a time of 1:23.643, the quickest among all 20 drivers. He crossed the line in 14th place, earning two championship points and extending his points-scoring streak to four consecutive races. “It’s good that we scored points this weekend,” said Buus. “Of course, we were hoping for more, but consistency is important too. We need to keep building like this, and if we do, we’ll keep moving further up the field.“
Things improved further on Sunday. Starting 13th on the grid, Buus produced an expert drive in the #29 Porsche 911 GT3 R, while the pit crew delivered flawless stops. After a hard-fought race, the Dane crossed the line in eleventh place. “The race was pretty chaotic and action-packed, and we just tried to make the best of it,” said the 23-year-old. “There was a lot of contact, which certainly didn’t make things easy, but it was good, fair racing and I managed to gain a few positions by the finish.”
The next task for Land-Motorsport comes on the weekend of 14 to 16 August with the sixth round of the DTM season at the Nürburgring.
