As part of the partnership between the DTM and the New England Patriots, the #29 Porsche 911 GT3 R will race at the Hockenheimring season finale in a special livery featuring the colours of the US NFL team.
“We are delighted to be involved in this cooperation with the New England Patriots and unveil this special livery for our Porsche,” said team principal Christian Land ahead of the Hockenheim race weekend. “The Patriots are one of the most popular NFL teams in Germany and enjoy an enormous following around the world. Together, we want to expand the reach of both sports and make the most of the synergies this cooperation creates.”
Many DTM fans will already be familiar with the New England Patriots and their presence in the paddock, with the six-time Super Bowl champions having been a strategic partner of the DTM for the past year. Now, the partnership is set to reach a special highlight at the circuit, with Land-Motorsport’s Porsche running in a Patriots’ livery. The Hockenheim race also forms part of the Patriots’ Road to Munich, which culminates on Sunday, 15 November, when the franchise takes on the Detroit Lions at Munich’s Allianz Arena. Ahead of the clash, the Patriots are using a series of initiatives to rally support among their German fanbase.
“Seeing a Porsche racing in our colours at the DTM season finale is something truly special for us,” said Alex Foster, Senior Manager International Business at the New England Patriots. “The race in Hockenheim is an important stop on our journey to Munich and a great opportunity to connect with sports fans who share our passion for pace, competition and teamwork. We hope to capture their attention with American football and, of course, see many of them again in Munich on 15 November.”
In the shape of the DTM, Land-Motorsport competes in one of the most popular GT3 championships in Europe. For the season finale, the team’s Porsche 911 GT3 R will sport a special livery inspired by the Patriots’ signature red and dark blue colours.
Land-Motorsport will be in action on both Saturday and Sunday at the Hockenheimring, with two races scheduled across the weekend. Saturday’s race gets underway at the usual time of 13:30, while Sunday’s race is scheduled to start at 16:30. The later start on Sunday is no coincidence: once the on-track action concludes, spectators at the circuit can look forward to the DTM Champions Celebration. Fans watching from home can follow all the action live on free-to-air television via ProSieben.
