In mid-September, Wiggo Dalmo won the GT3 Am class in the prestigious 24-hour race in Barcelona for Land-Motorsport together with his teammates Ingo Vogler, Tim Vogler, Dr. Johannes Kirchhof and Max Edelhoff. The Norwegian told us what makes working with Land-Motorsport so special and why he races.
How did you get started in motorsport and what role does it play in your life?
It was always one of my big childhood dreams to get involved in motorsports. For me, motorsport is a retreat where I can fully concentrate on the sport without having my work in the back of my mind. In addition, racing offers me the opportunity to develop my sporting abilities and my driving skills. Finally, the paddock is a place to make new friends.
How does it feel to race with Land-Motorsport in races like the 24 Hours of Barcelona and how did you get involved?
Land-Motorsport is very experienced and offers a driver like me a perfect overall package. All team members bring a high level of competence. More than anything, from day one you feel that everyone in the team is pulling in the same direction and that teamwork is the priority. In my opinion, these skills are essential to be successful in a team sport like motorsport and Land-Motorsport proves this year after year.
You surprised with the class victory in the 24-hour race in Barcelona. How did it feel to be at the top step of the podium?
It was a great experience to stand on top of the podium. We delivered a flawless job throughout the entire race and could benefit from our opponents misfortune. Of course, it was a huge success for us to celebrate class victory after the chequered flag.
