Land-Motorsport will not be taking part in the Dubai 24 Hours as planned in January 2024. This is due to the two-week postponement of the race at short notice.
“This was a very difficult decision because the team was hugely looking forward to the 24-hour race and we would have loved to have given our fans and partners a spectacular start to the season,” said team manager Christian Land. “Our withdrawal is due to the postponement of the race at the Dubai Autodrome, which was originally scheduled for 12–14 January.”
Transporting the cars and equipment from Europe to Dubai is taking longer than expected on account of tensions in the Red Sea and changes to shipping routes. “We can fully understand the decision that Creventic had to make,” adds Land. “But the short notice presents an enormous challenge to us, starting with the fact that none of our five drivers are available on the rescheduled weekend. Therefore we would have had to put together a completely new program with four new drivers. Under the circumstances, we see no chance of finding an adequate solution with such a short space of time.”
As a result, Land-Motorsport‘s start to the 2024 season will have to wait until the spring, with a broad program across a number of different series.
