Third station of the ADAC GT Masters season sees the Land-Motorsport team facing a significant challenge from 12-14 July, when the racing series, which is part of the ADAC Truck Grand Prix programme, celebrates a new race format.
So what’s new? To start with, there’s a mix of sprint and endurance racing in the ADAC GT Masters. What does that mean? That the Land-Motorsport drivers have to prove their long-distance qualities on Saturday. Within an 80-minute race with two obligatory pit stops, aim is to demonstrate the correct strategy and consistency. Sunday means a shorter and punchier performance for Juliano and Sandro – the race length is only 40 minutes with just one mandatory stop.
“We aim to get the best out of it again and hit the Top 5, as my GT Masters and DTM starts last year went extremely well on the track. So, obviously, expectations will be pretty high”, says Sandro Holzem.
Friday is traditionally the first day of the event: two 45-minute practice sessions mark the official beginning of track action. On Saturday morning, things start to get serious for the twins.
Although the ADAC GT Masters isn’t on its usual DTM platform this time, there’s no change to coverage. Sport1 will be reporting live from the Eifel. In addition, the fifth and sixth ADAC GT Masters can be streamed on YouTube. Spur-of-the-moment fans can buy tickets at the box office.
