At the second round of the DTM season at Dekra Lausitzring from 23 to 25 May, Land-Motorsport will be looking to build on its solid start to the season and take the next step towards the sharp end of the field.
“After our first DTM race weekend in Oschersleben, we took a close look at where we can improve and worked hard on implementing those improvements,” said team principal Christian Land. “A lot of it is to do with strategy, pit stops and other small details that are so important in the series. During testing at the Lausitzring, we showed that we are certainly on the right track.”
The action begins on Friday, when Ricardo Feller and the team will have a chance to fine-tune their set-up for the rest of the weekend in the key free practice sessions. “I have a good feeling ahead of the weekend at the Lausitzring,” says Feller. “We had a bit of homework to do, but I think the guys have made real progress. Everything worked really well at the test two weeks ago. I was very happy with the car and felt right at home, so I am very much looking forward to the weekend. I can’t wait to get back underway and hope we will be able to convert our pace into results.”
The race weekend continues on Saturday morning with the first qualifying session at 9:05. There is one important change to the schedule to note: Due to the World Ice Hockey Championships that are currently being broadcast live by TV partner ProSieben, Saturday’s race has been moved one hour forward from its usual time to 12:30. Everything is back to normal on Sunday, with second qualifying beginning as usual at 9:00 and the fourth race of the season going green at 13:30 – once again featuring two mandatory pit stops.
