Put simply, Land-Motorsport’s home race weekend at the Nürburgring could barely have gone any better! With Ricardo Feller at the wheel, the team from Niederdreisbach claimed its first-ever DTM podium in its young history in the series.
“We are hugely proud to achieve this new milestone in our hist
ory as a team, here at the Nürburgring of all places,” said team principal Christian Land. “This shows how all that hard work over the past few months is paying off. At this point I want to say a huge thanks to every single person at the team – without our guys, this success would never have been possible.”
Qualifying had already shown how close things would be at the ‘Ring. Even though
Ricardo Feller was just four tenths off the quickest driver in the field, he had to settle for an eleventh-place start. But what then followed was an absolutely textbook performance in the race. From wheel-to-wheel racing to a perfect pitstop and an action-packed conclusion to the race, nothing fazed Feller in his Joyn-liveried Audi R8 LMS GT3 on his way to the first podium finish of the season. In one of the most exciting DTM races in recent history, Feller even managed to lead for a number of laps.
“We did it!” said Feller with a huge smile after the race. “It feels amazing to celebrate our first top-three finish of the season here at the Nürburgring. Our strategy worked just perfectly, as we were able to come into the pits right when the pit-stop window opened and then make optimal use of peak tyre performance. At the business end of the race, we made up some important time on our competitors, which was how we were able to take the lead and battle for the podium s
pot.”
Thanks to his podium, Feller has almost doubled his championship points tally. In race two on Sunday, the Swiss driver fell short of the podium after a long-lap penalty and the resulting time loss relegated the 25-year-old to 20th position.
The next chance for points and podiums is in two weeks’ time when the DTM reconvenes at the Sachsenring. The circuit in Hohenstein-Ernstthal hosts the sixth round of the 2025 season.
