You might spot her in the paddock, in the pits and wherever she is needed: Filippina Manou. As the sponsorship coordinator at MANN-FILTER, she makes sure that the “yellow-green filtration brand” finds its way onto the racetrack. We interviewed her to find out what exactly this means and what motivates her in her work.
How would you sum up the first races with MONTAPLAST by Land-Motorsport?
Of course, I was already familiar with the Niederdreisbach-based team before our partnership with Luci Trefz. However, it is something completely different to look behind the scenes like this. You notice how organised, experienced, and familiar they really are. Some members of staff have been with the team for many years, and this is reflected in the way they work together. Wolfgang Land himself has written motorsport history and made the team great. It’s amazing to see how he deals with young drivers, giving them advice. Even if they haven’t quite made the breakthrough on the track yet, the potential for success is there.
What are your responsibilities at MANN-FILTER?
Among other things, I am responsible for sponsoring. Our activity in this area adds an emotive component to the brand. Many people in our team are actively involved, whether in the areas of press, design, digital channels or brand communication. I then pull all this work together and take it to the racetrack. I am the interface between teams and drivers and MANN-FILTER. In addition, I coordinate campaigns for our customers and fans, who get the opportunity to look behind the scenes at race weekends and experience the yellow-green world up close.
What is it that makes a partnership in motorsport so strong?
I am convinced that common goals are extremely important in any partnership. Motorsport teams like Land-Motorsport and our brand MANN-FILTER have enormously high-quality standards for themselves. We want to be the best on the market, or rather in the field. What we also have in common is that we do not shy away from challenges but tackle them courageously and enjoy the competition.
