The sixth race weekend of the 2025 DTM season proved a real rollercoaster for Land-Motorsport at the Sachsenring. After misfortune in qualifying, Ricardo Feller showed remarkable grit, fighting his way back through the field to secure a strong sixth-place finish.
“We had hoped for a different result this weekend,” said team principal Christian Land. “Our biggest issue was obviously our grid positions. However, if you look at our qualifying results, 16th and 19th, you will see that we got the maximum out of the car.”
The team were particularly able to maximise their performance in the first of the weekend’s two races. With wet conditions shaking up the start, Feller quickly gained ground in the opening laps, putting himself in contention for valuable points. As the race entered its decisive phase, the 25-year-old kept his cool through a series of wheel-to-wheel duels. The outcome: an impressive climb of 13 positions, ten championship points for sixth place and the most overtakes of any driver in the field.
“I am proud of the whole crew,” said Feller. “The guys did a brilliant job with the pit stops this weekend. We had a strong strategy on Saturday, and the car felt great. I was really happy with sixth position.”
On Sunday, Feller made another strong start, but saw his hopes of a top finish dashed when he was pushed into a spin by another car and dropped down to 17th.
“Now it’s time to analyse why things were so difficult for us in qualifying and why we were so short on pace in dry conditions,” added Feller. “I hope that we can learn from this weekend and come back stronger at the Red Bull Ring.”
The penultimate round of the season takes place in Spielberg from 12 to 14 September.
