The Audi Sport Team Land will tackle the 47th edition of the ADAC Total 24-hour race from position 15. Since the team already had their ticket for the Top-Qualifying a couple of weeks ago, the drivers prepared for their individual time trial in the two qualifying sessions. In the final qualifying, René Rast drove a lap time of 8:16.069, making him the second fastest Audi driver.
“My lap was okay,” Rast summed up after the Top-Qualifying. “Of course, it would have been better to start from the very front, especially in the initial phase of the race to help stay out of the turmoil. However, at the end of the day the final result counts after the 24 hours, making the starting position less critical. And for that, we are well prepared.”
The Audi Sport Team Land and the other participants are now beginning their final preparation phase of the endurance classic. “Now the task is to perfectly tune the car for the race. In order to do this, we must collect and analyze all data from previous sessions,” explained team manager Christian Land.
The starting signal for the race at the Green Hell will begin Saturday at 15:30. From then on, the Wolfgang and Christian Land’s team will have 24 hours to work their way forward.
