Land-Motorsport announces further plans for the new season: in 2023, the team of Wolfgang and Christian Land will be back at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. As Audi Sport Team Land, the squad competes in NLS races two and three as well as the legendary 24-hour race with a stellar line-up.
“We are incredibly excited to be back at the Nürburgring-Nordschleife,” says team manager Christian Land. “We have experienced a lot with Audi in recent years and celebrated many successes. Naturally, we want to build on that this year.”
The success story of Land-Motorsport and Audi on the Nordschleife began in 2016. Just one year later, Audi Sport Team Land celebrated one of its greatest wins: victory in the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring. In the years that followed, the team was always competitive in the legendary endurance race and was always a contender for a podium finish. Land-Motorsport can also look back on many successes in the Nürburgring Endurance Series. Among other achievements, the team currently stands at 25 overall victories in the championship.
“A big thank you goes to Audi for the successful partnership over the years. We would also like to thank our fans. We were overwhelmed by the number of messages we received last year. The interest in our team and the encouragement we got from it was something very special,” says Land. “Now we want to give something back to the fans. We are really looking forward to seeing them back at the track for the NLS and the 24-hour race.”
Three well-known drivers from the Audi Sport Customer Racing squad will come along for the challenge. Christopher Haase, Christopher Mies and Patric Niederhauser will be driving the Audi R8 LMS GT3 at the endurance classic in the Eifel. The three drivers are already involved in the team’s preparations and will race in the Nürburgring Endurance Series in the run-up to the 24-hour race.
The first race for Audi Sport Team Land, the second round of the NLS, is scheduled for 1 April. Two weeks later, on 15 April, the third race of the Nürburgring Endurance Series follows. The 24 Hours of the Nürburgring is scheduled from 18 to 21 May.
