Three championships, three cars, three successes! Land-Motorsport achieved top results in all of the ADAC GT Masters, GTC Race and Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy races at the joint weekend. The two GTC drivers Ivan Peklin and Konstantin Gutsul were responsible for one of the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps highlights and stood for the first time on the top step of the overall classification.
“This weekend was a real challenge,” team manager Christian Land summed up. “One session followed the next and there was hardly any time for a breather, but thanks to perfect preparation everything ran smoothly and all cars in all seven races crossed the finish line. This was possible because at all times, more than 20 people knew exactly what was to be done. I’d like to express my heartfelt thanks for all of this and for the great job the crew delivered.”
The GTC Race successes in particular, proved how well every move was executed and how all procedures had been optimally planned. During the last lap of a highly dramatic GT60 race, duo Ivan Peklin and Konstantin Gutsul asserted themselves against their competitors and clinched first place with a razor-thin lead.
Stefan Wieninger’s performance can be described as equally successful. Driving his matte green Audi R8 LMS with the Wieninger Brauerei design, he delivered an error-free run in both Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy races. His well-earned reward was two trophies for two race wins on the helter-skelter Spa-Francorchamps circuit in the Ardennes.
Juliano and Sandro Holzem would certainly have deserved a podium spot. After Juliano’s strong start, his brother had the necessary pace to work his way to a top 3 in the ADAC GT Masters, however a collision with a rival in Eau Rouge set the duo back several positions. A look at the timesheet shows how fast both junior drivers were moving: Sandro Holzem produced the race’s fastest lap time.
The next round of the ADAC GT Masters is scheduled for the end of September at the Red Bull Ring. Beforehand, the Niederdreisbach team heads for Barcelona, where the 24-hour race is on the agenda from 14 – 15 September.
