Land-Motorsport’s debut DTM season continues to present plenty of challenges, and Zandvoort was no exception. Finishing 16th in both races, the Dutch round ended without points for the team. Still, there were encouraging signs of progress.
“It was a tough weekend where a lot came together,” summed up team principal Christian Land. “The level of competition in the DTM is so high that every mistake, every weakness, has a big impact. But we have to focus on the positives. Ricardo and the whole crew achieved a lot, even if it might not look that way at first glance.”
On Saturday, Ricardo Feller once again fought his way into the top 5 in qualifying and held his own in the leading pack during the race. “We were running in fourth early on and I had some good battles,” said the Swiss driver. “Unfortunately, I made a small mistake and went off onto the grass. By the time I rejoined the track, almost the entire field had passed me.”
It didn’t get any easier on Sunday. A grid penalty from qualifying forced Feller to start the second race from the back of the field. The 25-year-old climbed to 16th, but no further. However, there was a clear improvement in one key area: pit stops. The Land-Motorsport crew completed a full four-tyre change in just 7.5 seconds.
The next stop brings Land-Motorsport back to the Norisring. The street circuit in Nuremberg last saw the team in action in 2015, back then as part of the Porsche Carrera Cup Deutschland.
