For the sixth round of the DTM, from 14 to 16 August, Land-Motorsport is heading to Germany’s most legendary circuit: the Nürburgring. No other circuit has seen the Niederdreisbach-based team compete in more races.
Land-Motorsport has plenty of fond memories of the Eifel track, including the team’s first DTM podium in 2025. This year, the team will compete there with its Porsche 911 GT3 R for the first time – but it won’t be arriving without prior experience.
“We tested at the Nürburgring with Bastian ahead of this weekend, allowing us to prepare as thoroughly as possible,” said team principal Christian Land. “Unfortunately, it rained for half of the day, which made collecting the data we needed more difficult. Nevertheless, we are confident that we were able to take plenty of valuable insights from the test.”
Drawing on the team’s wealth of experience at the Nürburgring and the data gathered during the test, Land-Motorsport has plenty of reason to be confident heading into the DTM race weekend. However, as Christian Land points out, even on familiar ground like the Nürburgring, ultimate race performance comes down to getting a variety of factors working together.
“This DTM season has shown that you never really know where you stand until race day. There are so many factors that influence competitiveness, making it difficult to set a realistic target ahead of the event. All we can do is get the best out of the car and maximise our points haul.”
With the sixth round of the season, the DTM is entering the final phase of its 2026 campaign. Both races at the Nürburgring will be broadcast live on ProSieben and Joyn, with each race getting underway at 13:30.
