The 2026 DTM season is just around the corner, and a new face is joining the grid of Germany’s premier GT series in Bastian Buus. The 22-year-old Porsche contracted driver has been on a rapid trajectory and is now taking the next step on the career ladder behind the wheel of the Porsche 911 GT3 R with Land-Motorsport.
What does it mean to you personally to be competing in the DTM now?
It has long been a dream of mine to compete in the DTM. I personally see it as one of the toughest championships in the world and that’s exactly why I want to be a part of it. I can barely wait for the season to begin. That first race weekend will be something very special to me.
What comes to your mind when you hear the name Land-Motorsport?
I know that the team was successful before I even started driving GT cars. So, there’s a lot of experience there that we can build on, and the team showed that last season. I know that none of us are here just to take part. We want to win.
What role does the team environment play in helping you settle into a new series quickly?
It’s the most important part of all! I was welcomed by the team right from day one. The guys all know each other and when we spend so much time together at the circuit, it’s very important that we are able to have fun together.
What do you think will be your biggest challenge in the DTM?
It’s my first year in the series, so I am open to everything and am ready to learn. I’m very confident that we will be very quick!
Do you have a favourite track? If so, what is your connection to it?
I am a huge fan of street circuits, where driving errors have severe consequences. And there are lot of those out there. I have had the privilege of racing in Monaco, at Bathurst and on the Nordschleife. For me it’s the challenge that makes these tracks so appealing.
