Land-Motorsport brought the sixth DTM race weekend of the season (14 to 16 August 2026) to a close with two top-10 finishes and a valuable haul of championship points. Following difficult qualifying sessions, Bastian Buus and the team delivered two flawless races in their #29 Porsche 911 GT3 R, recovering to finish tenth in both races at the Nürburgring.
“Our race performance was good, but we need to get more out of qualifying,” said team principal Christian Land. “A strong starting position is extremely important for the races that follow. If you start in the midfield, you can get caught in traffic during the opening laps and lose valuable time. This is an area where we continue to struggle. We need to optimise several aspects of the car, while Bastian can also extract more from the package. These are areas we will work on at the next test.”
Things went better in the race on Saturday afternoon than they had in the morning. Starting from 17th, Buus kept his composure and avoided trouble through the opening stages. The crew then executed a perfect pit stop, allowing the Dane to return to the track with a smart strategy. Buus was the fastest driver in the field during the closing stages, charging through the pack with a series of impressive overtakes to finish tenth. The 23-year-old made up a total of seven places – more than any other driver on the grid.
“It was a lot of fun battling through the field,” said Buus, reflecting on the final third of Saturday’s race. “I had the opportunity to gain several positions in the closing stages, but I made sure to keep the championship points firmly in mind. The prospect of adding points to our tally is always an extra source of motivation.”
Sunday followed a similar pattern. Once again starting towards the back of the field, Buus remained unfazed and delivered another composed performance. Driver and team combined for a second error-free race, with Buus once again producing spectacular overtakes to entertain the 81,000 spectators at the Nürburgring. He crossed the finish line in tenth, while the crew also took victory in the pit stop challenge with a rapid 5.95-second stop.
With the Nürburgring round now complete, just two DTM weekends remain on the calendar. The championship heads to the Sachsenring from 11 to 13 September, before concluding with the season finale at the Hockenheimring in October.
