“We should never have made a mistake like this, of course. We always had our eyes on points for the Michelin Endurance Cup, which are awarded at 6, 12, 18 and 24 hours. Another factor was the poor weather and the red flags, which ultimately led to the mistake. Nevertheless we shouldn’t have been in that position in the first place. Now we are working towards making sure something like this never happens again.”
