A little taste of the 24-hour race at the Nürburgring: in the second round of the NLS, Audi Sport Team Land made its first appearance with the crew that will contest in the endurance classic in mid-May. Together with Christopher Haase, Christopher Mies and Patric Niederhauser, important information was gathered in preparation for the famous race.
The fans had to wait almost a year for Land-Motorsport to return to the Nürburgring-Nordschleife. On 1 April, the time had finally come. “It felt good to be back,” says team manager Christian Land. “The team is in testing mode and NLS2 was perfect for gaining valuable information under race conditions, both in the wet and in the dry.”
Results were of secondary importance for the racing team from Niederdreisbach. A 15th place in qualifying was followed by an eighth place in the race. Niederhauser, who started the race, as well as his two teammates Haase and Mies showed a flawless performance and continuously worked their way up the field.
What’s next on the schedule? “Evaluate everything and prepare for the coming race. For us, NLS3 is the next stop on our way to the 24-hour race. We hope to again make the most of our testing programme,” says Christian Land.
Round three of the Nürburgring Endurance Series takes place on 15 April.
